Terence Dobson who was one of the finalists in Junior Masterchef 2012 known as TJ by his friends told us his story of his journey to fame. He attended with his mother and two sisters. He is also interested in politics, he is a young politician, he aspires to become the next Prime Minister,
Paul Higgins has asked me to provide details about his organisation – “The Reader Organisation”. He will be visiting us on 23 September to tell us more.
Our presentation today was by Dr Lesley Trenner. She is a life coach and specialises in providing advice for carers who look after people with dementia. She also calls herself an agony aunt as she writes various columns.
David Cohen one of the carers read 3 poems by Rudyard Kipling, ‘The Glory of the Garden’, ‘A River’s Tale’ and ‘IF’ which were received well by the members.
We had a special visit by the Mayor of Enfield, Cllr Pat Ekechi who’s mother also suffers with dementia and was therefore was able to empathise with the group.
Pat Golding celebrated her 80th birthday and had her photo with the Mayor of Enfield.
The presentation was by the Care Manager – Donia Arnall, Barnet Carers Centre. Donia talked about personal care assistants and services they provide
Dr’s Angela Parker and Judith Tobin attended and also Karen Landi our new practice nurse attended who introduced taking blood pressures for anyone who wished in the group.
